Sloppy seconds!
Cults plan scuppered!
The Bons
ruined Cults' plan
for world domination by thwarting their 2nds blatant attempts
to play out the draw on Saturday.
Batting first, Andy Meres (45)
and Fazal Awan (79) added 125 for the 1st wicket and a big
score looked on the cards but the Cults bowling and fielding
improved dramatically and it all fizzled out for the Bons.
With 49 overs to get 218 a good
start was required for Cults but Spearman went in the first
over and three quick wickets followed as Malik and Nawaz
got busy. At this point the Cults 2nds captain remembered what
they were here for. To stop Bon Accord winning at all costs
and benefit their big brothers. The shop was well and truly
shut up and the only attacking strokes played were directed at
the umpire when the inevitable lbws were given.
Eventually, patience paid off
and Graham Morrison picked
up three wickets to winkle out the ultra defensive cannon
fodder and seal the win. Although the cricket sucked it was
immensely satisfying to have triumphed over such blatantly
cynical tactics and our hearts go out to (especially) Kintore,
who can expect the same game plan from what should be called
