submitted 25th June 2006

A true Huntly C.C. supporter, not one of the small minority who bring shame to cricket.

Crikipedias sole intention is to provide humorous entertainment to those of you who constitute the Grades community, be you players, officials, supporters or ex-players. No insult within its pages is meant in a malicious way or indeed intended as one. If any article in Crikipedia causes serious offence to an individual, then I shall remove it.

Many of the articles, however, are more general, and may have a high level of satirical (though not necessarily very good) content aimed at poking fun at or passing comment about the actions, behaviors or sentiments of clubs, groups, associations or even society as a whole and as such, constitutes a legitimate form of expression. Some may not appreciate how their various affiliations are regarded in Crikipedia and protestations will be given due consideration where appropriate.

Many of the pictures and even whole passages of writing have been borrowed from other sites. If you feel compelled to take legal action, be warned. I have no money. It is my practice to allow usage of my images by anyone and I expect to be treated likewise. This site is free to use and is not used to make money, the references to donations are simply a nod to Wikipedia of which this site is a pastiche.

The majority of what you read within Crikipedia is entirely fictional. Quotes by Gladstone, King Charles II or Cromwell can be taken with a dose of salts. Facts like "The Broad Hill is a man made construction. Workers used soil removed from Links 1-3..." are not true. They are, in this case, used to point out that A) there is a reason why Links 4 & 5 are so called and B) a comment on the lack of wickets that are available to us today.

Some content may well offend but (I would contend) such material constitutes a legitimate expression of protest, contempt, dismay or disgust. Real members and supporters of Huntly C.C. will surely recognize who The Huntly Siportas are in the article of the same name, but they are not the targets of my "wit" any more than the handful of English hooligans are representative of all English supporters. But I have witnessed, at first hand, racist and other forms of abuse, from the same (small) corps of Siportas on more than one occasion and have been compelled to express myself in an idiom I am accustomed to.

I trust that most of you will view Crikipedia as what it is meant to be. A laugh. If not, lighten up.
