Bon Accord Cricket Club was
formed in 1958 from the ranks of the Post Office and joined the
Aberdeenshire Cricket Association for season 1959, making an
immediate impact, winning the Reid Cup.
The
club currently plays in the ACA's Grade 1 and
finished runners-up in 2007. The Bons are the current holders of
the Thistle Sports 7's, a title they have held for 8 consecutive seasons.
It
is a very cosmopolitan club with a wide diversity of nationalities in
it's ranks, 2008's skipper, for example, is Andy
Win, a New Zealander and there's even a Scotsman or two. However, for more than a decade, the
main driving force behind the club (and it's numerous successes)
has been our strong Asian contingent.
